Eilene Carol Elder Sheppard went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 30, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was born in Greer, South Carolina on September 8, 1960. She was the daughter of the late Roy Barron Elder and her surviving mother, Glenda Lou Crain Barnett. She married John William Sheppard and together they had three children; John Winston Sheppard, Erin Lee Sheppard, and Carol Marie Sheppard. Eilene was preceded in death by her daughter Carol Marie Sheppard, her father Roy Barron Elder, her grandmother Nellie Crain Tate, and her grandfather Carroll Crain and uncle Leroy Eubanks . She married John William Sheppard and together they had three children; John Winston Sheppard, Erin Lee Sheppard, and Carol Marie Sheppard.
Eilene was preceded in death by her daughter Carol Marie Sheppard, her father Roy Barron Elder, her grandmother Nellie Crain Tate, and her grandfather Carroll Crain and uncle Leroy Eubanks . Left to cherish her memory are her children John Winston Sheppard and Erin Lee Sheppard. Also surviving are John William Sheppard, a sister Marilyn Elder Loughray (Mike), a nephew Brock Quinn (Donna), a niece Brandi Quinn Castilla (Philip), an aunt Marlene Eubanks, and a cousin Carroll Eubanks (Mandy).
Eilene was a Godly woman who was devoted to her children. She loved being a mother. Her children admired her for her strength, guidance, and the stability of her faith. She was a woman of integrity who lived what she believed. She always put others above herself. She was naturally funny and her humor and irrepressible spirit delighted and encouraged others. With only a glance, Eilene could reduce those around her to uncontrollable bouts of laughter.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 2, 2012 from 1 pm to 2 pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel where a funeral service will follow. Interment Sharon Memorial Park.
