Elaine A. (Millette) Ball, age 89, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 3, 2012 at home. She was the wife of the late Francis T. Ball, whom she shared 59 years of marriage. Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph and Aurore (Longpre) Millette, she was a life-long resident of the area. Mrs. Ball graduated from New Bedford High School Class of January 1942. She was proud to be a United States Navy WAVE during WWII serving in Hawaii. Elaine enjoyed keeping an impeccable lawn and yard at her residence and looked forward to her daily martini, shaken not stirred. She especially loved traveling the World with...
Elaine A. (Millette) Ball, age 89, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 3, 2012 at home. She was the wife of the late Francis T. Ball, whom she shared 59 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph and Aurore (Longpre) Millette, she was a life-long resident of the area.

Mrs. Ball graduated from New Bedford High School Class of January 1942. She was proud to be a United States Navy WAVE during WWII serving in Hawaii. Elaine enjoyed keeping an impeccable lawn and yard at her residence and looked forward to her daily martini, shaken not stirred. She especially loved traveling the World with her husband and soul mate Francis.

Her family would like to extend their gratitude to her special caregivers and the Community Nurse and Hospice Care of Fairhaven.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith Ball and her husband Kenneth Machado of New Bedford; two nieces and two nephews. She was also the sister of the late Lucille A. Sharples.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 9 AM in St. Mary's Church, Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours, Monday 4-7 PM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd. New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Community Nurse and Hospice Care, P.O. Box 751, Fairhaven, MA 02719.
