Katz – Elaine. Born in the Bronx on April 21, 1921. Elaine grew up on The Grand Concourse, and met the love of her life, Ira Katz of Brooklyn, in Long Beach in 1940. After World War II where Ira served in the M.P. and Elaine volunteered in the USO, they were married in 1945 and moved to Kew Gardens, Queens, later moving to Woodmere in 1950. In 1954, Ira built his family the house of their dreams in Hewlett Harbor, where she and her family lived out their days for the last 58 years. In addition to be reunited with the love of her life, Ira Katz, Elaine leaves behind her loving children Jeffrey Katz (Beth Rogers), and Susan Katz-Roth, her grandchildren Mark Roth (Amanda), Jason Roth (Ariel Hurwitz), and John Katz, great grandchildren Emma and Jacob Roth, nieces and nephews Barbra and Stephen Finkelstein, and Margi and Peter Caron in addition to many others, including great friends.
