Carlsbad - Eleanor La Mattino (Hryniewicki), a long-time resident of Carlsbad, passed away on May 13th, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born December 18th, 1933 in Waterbury, CT, she was the daughter of Victor P Hryniewicki and Helen H. (Zawistowski) Hryniewicki. Eleanor leaves behind her husband of almost 60 years, Joseph La Mattino, their three daughters Donna, Laura and Linda and four grandchildren: Andrew, Rebecca, Brooklyn, and Lucy. She also leaves behind her sisters Joanne, Helen and Theresa.
Eleanor was a devoted, loving wife, mother, Grandmother and sister. She enjoyed significant professional success as a Fleet Sales Manager for many years until retirement, where she continued to focus on her most important purpose in life, caring for her family and others. Eleanor enjoyed knitting, crafting over 300 scarfs she donated to the girls of Sandipani Muni School in India (FFLV). She was truly a selfless and beautiful person.
Eleanor and Joe would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this June. They loved to travel together, spending time in Hawaii and sailing with their children, on their boat. But their most cherished time spent was enjoying the wonderful joy and happiness of their beautiful family and loving friends.
Services will be held at Saint John the Evangelist Church in Encinitas on Friday, May 19th at 10am, with a Interment service to follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, CA.
