In Memory of Eleanor May Vock Audlin, of Fairmount, born on September 10. 1926, in the middle of a hurricane, at Sarasota, Florida, departed this life at 11:26 pm on November 25, 2011. The daughter of Lillie Victoria Eleanor Erickson Vock and James Clifton Vock, she is survived by her loving husband David, two sons, James and David Jr., brothers James, Edwin and Richard, and two grandchildren, Katharine and John and was predeceased by her beloved sister, Evelyn Jean Vock Sturge. In a time when few women were encouraged to obtain higher education, she attended the Eastman School of Music, and then received her bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester, and her Master's degree from Syracuse University. She taught English literature at the Salmon River Central School District, Bombay, N.Y., and was offered the Chairmanship of the English Department, but declined that honor to be a full time mother for her two sons. She taught piano through the years, sang in church choirs, and was filled with a boundless energy and courage, never faltering in her love of others and service to her community. When she sang, lyric soprano, it was as though an angel had come among us, and she shared that gift of music through her life, often singing to the elderly at the Van Duyn Home in Syracuse. She dedicated her life to God, to her family, and to her community, which included any and every person she met, through the years. She brought comfort to the sick and the lonely, and reminded all of us, by her example, that each of us can leave the world a better place. With her passing, she enters eternal life, and will now watch over her loved ones from Eternity.

There are no calling hours. Private burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners, NY. BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, Solvay, has care of arrangements.

Condolences may be offered at www.bagozzitwins.com.
