Eleanor Hildegard Phillips was born to Fernando and Margaret Sullivan on May 13, 1920 in Boston, Massachusetts. Eleanor had two sisters, Dorothy and Carol, and an older brother, Fernando Jr. Raised in Cambridge, Eleanor graduated from Cambridge High & Latin. Eleanor's pride and joy was in raising her three children, Gary, Gregory, and Juanita. Despite not having a formal education herself, through Eleanor's persistent love and dedication, all three of her children grew to achieve & excel academically and professionally, while raising decent, God-fearing families of their own. Eleanor's only daughter, who she affectionately named after her favorite actress, Juanita Moore, ironically grew up to become an award-winning actress herself. Nothing pleased Eleanor more than quality time with her children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren; nothing except for Bingo of course! Eleanor possessed a knack for the game of Bingo, playing regularly as a hobby, and often dominating, up through her last days. She also was a very handy woman who had a gift as a seamstress, and utilized her talent to sow and crotchet beautiful blankets and clothing for her family members that symbolized her love and warmth. Other trademarks of Eleanor were her beautiful, broad smile, her light-hearted chuckle, and her custom reply "I'm doing fine…now that I hear your voice!" when exchanging pleasantries with loved ones. Overcoming various obstacles throughout life with grace and dignity, Eleanor's strength was rooted in her faith and love of the Lord. She was a member of Greater Framingham Community Church for well over three decades. After decades of being a resident of Wellesley, Eleanor's last years were spent at Epoch Senior Living in Weston, Mass., where she was lovingly accepted into the community and under the top-notch supervision and care of dedicated health professionals. Eleanor Hildegard Phillips took her last breath on Monday, August 19, 2013 with her two, remaining children by her side.

Eleanor was proceeded in death by her brother Fernando, sister Dorothy, son Dr. Gary Sullivan and is survived by her sister Carol Hendley (Skinner) son Justice Gregory Phillips Sr., daughter Juanita Jennings (Phillips), granddaughter Kenya Sullivan, grandsons Gregory Phillips Jr., Jason Phillips, Derek Jennings, Aaron Jennings, and Garrett Sullivan, great-grandsons Gregory Phillips III, Gavin Phillips, Will Armstrong, and Devin Armstrong. Funeral proceedings have been arranged for Sunday August 25, at Greater Framingham Community Church at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to The Greater Framingham Community Church: Phase Two in memory of Eleanor H. Phillips.
