Eleanor Hill Anderson Rayburn, age 93, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at her residence. She was the born March 27, 1920 in Pontotoc County, MS to Dabney Benjamin Anderson and Julia Sadler Anderson. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pontotoc and a retired school teacher. During her twenty-five year teaching career, she taught Third and Fourth Grades and some Latin classes, at Beckham School and Pontotoc City Schools. She enjoyed playing bridge and reading.
Services will be at 1 PM Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Pontotoc with Rev. Michaele Woods officiating; burial will follow in the Pontotoc City Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her sisters: Sarah Anderson Gillespie of Pinola, MS, Genevieve Anderson Yancey of Mill Valley, CA, Julia Anderson Holmes of Pontotoc, MS and Roberta Anderson of New York, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Dr. Charles Rayburn, one sister: Grace Lindley Anderson Thompson and a brother: Dabney Benjamin Anderson, Jr.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2 013 from 11 to 1 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Pontotoc, MS.
