GIBSON, Elizabeth J., 81, entered into rest on Monday, March 30th.

She was a member of the Calvary Christian Church in Mt. Washington and a fan of the County Music Show in Shepherdsville.

Mrs. Gibson was preceded in rest by her husbands, Clyde Jones and Vernon Gibson.

She is survived by her children, Sylvia Mudd, Margaret Stelzig (Charles) and Robert Jones (Annie); six grandchildren, Amy, Rob, Poppy, Mimi, Natalie and Patrick; 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Harper (Sharon); a sister, Tyldesley Buchanan; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be at 11am on Friday at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4pm until 8pm and on Friday from 10am until the time of service.

Sylvia, Maggie, Bob, Family, and Extended Family, Words although soft spoken can never completely sooth the feeling of the heart when we mourn the loss of a Parent. Only by the power of God do we ever truly know if we ever will see our loved ones again after this life. But the time we have all spent here on this Earth and especially growing up is chalked with the best memories there could ever be. Our Parents are hopefully reunited above and through the blood in our veins, the beating of our hearts and memories of us all together CHERISHED forever in our souls. As these next few days go by and you feel the emptiness inside left by her passing as you stand there at her body, close your eyes, listen, hear the children, hear the laughter, the gentle sobbing of a lot of the people and realize, SHE'S NOT GONE ! She is spread all around that room, through THE 3 OF YOU, YOUR 6 KIDS, YOUR 9 GRANDKIDS, What a life she had ! I witnessed a lot of it as a child, I'll never forget one of her favorite lines ! With the finger and thumb on her chin and the side of her face, "You know Herbie ?" All our weekends at Blackstone Mills, The weekends Her, Clyde, Mom and Dad would play Rook. I was 6 !! Her telling me to keep an eye on her Mother on the porch incase Malcome showed up while Harvey and I threw ball in the yard ! And he always did !! LOL !! The camping out on the front porch and me walking the rod iron railing and turning flips in the yard at 3 in the morning. Watching the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show through your picture window !! The day at Blackstone Mills when Clyde tripped over a drowning boy and he picked him up and brought him back to life then realized he couldn't see a thing because he had lost his glasses in the water and we swam the bottom endlessly and found them , the fun under the roof, the jukebox and singing in Debbie's back yard on the swings. 7 years old. Our parents grew tired. Time takes it's tolls on the body. God takes away the suffering and the pain ! Our ancestors spent lifetimes creating the border of our family members past. Our parents laid the foundation for OUR existence and we all have filled in the pieces through the years, then we get so caught up in life that we stop on day and realize that the borders of the puzzle are leaving one by one. BUT a new puzzle is being built above. And it's ETERNAL for us who believe. Liz, one of my neighborhood Moms, thank you so much for my Sylvia, my Maggie, and my little Brother Bob. May your rest be peaceful and your days in Heaven be as joyous as they were here on Earth, heart emoticon FOREVER AND A DAY, Herbie
