She was born April 9, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to John Terry Brown and Elizabeth Mann Brown (nee Mann). She married Samuel Elting Greeley on August 25, 1951. She was a graduate of Pine Manor and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

She was a devoted wife and mother, travelling with Sam, who worked for the J. I. Case Company and was transferred to Montevideo, Uruguay in 1954. The family lived in Montevideo until 1961 when they returned to Racine, Wisconsin. She was active in the Junior League, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames and the Huguenot Society. Genealogy was her passion and she traced hers as well as Sam's family as far back as the Mayflower.

"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."
"Some people care too much. I think it's called love."
? A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. Proverbs 6:20-22

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. John 14:27-29
