Elizabeth "Liz" McKenney Hall, 76, passed away in Indianapolis, IN, March 9, of natural causes unrelated to the Alzheimer's. She was born in Gary, Indiana to the late George and Mildred McKenney. She had moved back to Indiana in June 2012 from her beloved Vermont, where she lived most of 50 years. Straight from Morton High School she attended Purdue University. As an adult student, she obtained an undergrad degree from University of Vermont and a graduate degree from Tufts University. The Tufts degree was from a new program she helped develop: "Public Policy and Citizen Participation." She worked for the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity as Director of the Franklin Grand Isle Community Action Office from October 31, 1991 to September 27, 2002. During her tenure Liz was a strong voice for the rights of low income families, promoting their cause through local advocacy and public policy efforts with the state administration.

She is survived by her beautiful daughter Samantha Ann Bowman and Samantha's wonderful sons, Matthew and Trevor Callebs who all live in Glendora,CA; her exceptional son David Hall Wikar, who lives in Burlington, VT; her artist sister Marietta Cavinder; devoted niece Susan Reimlinger; nephew, Chris Cavinder; great-niece Elisha Duncan, and Elisha's son Dylan who all live in Indianapolis. She is also survived by her soul-sister Laurel Senger and Laurel's like-my-own children Alexis, Jenna and Adam; and dearest friends to name but a few: Travis, Jason, Mary, Cathy, Ann, Maxine, Paul, Jenny, Osmar, and Dr. Audrey.

Donations may be made to any charity of choice, or the www.juliancenter.org/. The Julian Center is a unique non-profit agency in Indianapolis providing counseling, safe shelter, case management, advocacy and education for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and other life crises.

Although there will be no specific services held at this time, there will be celebrations of her life at later dates.
