Obituary

Elizabeth Jane Parlegreco died surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 2, 2013 at Overlook Hospital. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 10th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Ave Union NJ. A funeral mass will be offered at Holy Spirit Church, Union on Thursday, April 11th at 10:30 AM, with entombment to follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Union for 36 years before moving to Clark.She was employed as an Executive Secretary for several years prior to her marriage at the New York City offices at Exxon Mobil. Elizabeth Jane Parlegreco died surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 2, 2013 at Overlook Hospital.

Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Union for 36 years before moving to Clark.She was employed as an Executive Secretary for several years prior to her marriage at the New York City offices at Exxon Mobil. From 1978 to 1988, she worked part time as a medical transcriber.In her younger years, she sang locally at weddings and religious services. She also sang to entertain wounded soldiers at local veteran's hospitals. She was the daughter of Susan (Maloney) Eilbacher and Charles Eilbacher.In 1948, she married Thomas Parlegreco. They had three children, Janice Ann, Marilyn Elizabeth, and Gregg.Elizabeth Jane was predeceased by her husband Thomas on March 2, 2013. She was also predeceased by her parents, Charles and Susan Eilbacher, her sister Rita La Quaglia, and her son-in-law Jerome Grebler. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who cherished her family above all. She especially, cherished her role as grandmother to Jordan and Ava, and looked forward to the time she spent with them, delighting in hearing about school, seeing their art work, and reading to them. They brought so much joy into her life, and she brought so much joy into theirs. She was a very special person to all who knew and loved her. Her memory will be cherished by her family to whom she gave so much love and happiness.

Surviving are two daughters, Janice Grebler and Marilyn Elizabeth, both of Oceanport, a son, Gregg and his wife Tina, of Union, two grandchildren, Jordan and Ava, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Ann Parlegreco of Conneticut, as well as several nieces and nephews.
