Elizabeth J. "Betty" Patchett

Born in 1925 in Pasadena, California to Stella and Carl Falkenborg. She grew up in Pasadena with her two older brothers Don and Carlyle and her two younger sisters Leora and Marguerite.

After high school she went to UCLA and graduated with a BA in Sociology. Betty worked at many jobs including one at Caltech, a social worker with the State, a teacher with the LA Unified School District and as a claims adjuster with the State Employment Development Department and later as a volunteer with Pacific Clinics.

She married William "Bill" Patchett in 1950. They had three children. She raised her family and was a stay-at-home wife and mother until the children were older. In 1989 her husband passed away. She continued living independently until the end of her life. She fought a brave battle against her many medical issues during a three-month hospital stay. At the end they were just too much.

She is survived by her children, Steven, Barbara and Richard, her daughter-in-law Barbie, her two grandchildren Eryn and Chris and two sisters Leora Duberg and Marguerite Falkenborg.

She always said she had a wonderful life and great husband and children. She was a kind and selfless person always putting others' wants and needs before her own. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A viewing is scheduled on Friday June 14th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Rose Hills.
