Ella Harriet Kuntz Wilson “Miss Ella” of Fayetteville passed away on January 5, 2017 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. She was born 3/4/1918 to the late Henry Charles and Runa Maude Kuntz of Swiss, WV. Ella was 98 years old.



Her first marriage was to Everett Henry Sprouse. They moved back to Swiss to help on the farm and cook for the boarders. They had one son, Henry Louise Sprouse “nicknamed Sprouse”. Second marriage to William T. “Bill” Wilson, a Fayette County Deputy Sheriff. She helped raise Bill’s son Ermil Wilson.



Proceeded in death by Bill Wilson, Everett Sprouse; son, Henry Sprouse; stepson, Ermil Wilson; sister, Mary Emma Davis, and brothers, Fred Henry and Charles ‘Page” Kuntz.



Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted granddaughter, Darlene (Chuck) Bennett; grandson, Hank Sprouse, and granddaughter, Diana Shepherd; step-grandchildren, Tom and Mike Wilson, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, members of her church family, and anyone who knew her, and her devoted niece, Sherri Kuntz and her mother, Edith Kuntz of Swiss, WV.



Ella was a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years in Fayetteville, WV. Ella was initiated into Fayetteville Chapter 115 of the Order of Eastern Star on 11/12/1945, Winolia #59. She will be greatly missed.



Longtime friends and caregivers David and Bonnie Ball, Suzanne and Gaylord Shumaker of Fayetteville, WV, daily caregivers Francis Bragg, Darlene Plumley, Karen Price, Carol Carte, and Unna Smith who loved and took great care and showed friendship and love for Ella.



A special thanks to the Bowers Hospice House of Beckley, WV and all the staff that was so great those last few days.



Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Pastor Justin Seay officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.



Friends may visit the family and pay condolences 1 hour before the service at Dodd-Payne-Hess.



In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Emmanuel Baptist Church at 121 Talbert Ave, Fayetteville, WV 25840 or Bowers Hospice House of Southern WV at 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.
