Ella Hord Williamson Mrs. Williamson, 95, of Charlotte, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at Avante of Charlotte. She was born August 24, 1916 in Waco, NC to the late John and Ella Hord. Ella was the youngest of six daughters. In the mid-thirties she moved to Charlotte, where she met and married W.H. Williamson, Jr. Mrs. Williamson worked for Standard Oil Company of Ohio until 1948, and left to raise her family. She was charter member of Myers Park Baptist Church. Mrs. Williamson, 95, of Charlotte, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at Avante of Charlotte. She was born August 24, 1916 in Waco, NC to the late John and Ella Hord. Ella was the youngest of six daughters.
In the mid-thirties she moved to Charlotte, where she met and married W.H. Williamson, Jr. Mrs. Williamson worked for Standard Oil Company of Ohio until 1948, and left to raise her family. She was charter member of Myers Park Baptist Church.
Mrs. Williamson is survived by sons, Bill Williamson, III and Harry Williamson, both of Charlotte, and Johnny Williamson and wife Trish of Belmont, NC; grandchildren, Blair Williamson and wife Erin of Gainesville, FL, Melissa Tuck and husband Ryan of Athens, GA, and Anna-Catherine Triggs of Charlotte; and great-grandson, Dylan Williamson. Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. Williamson, Jr. in February of 2010.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Harry & Bryant Company, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte; then will proceed to Sharon Memorial Park for a graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Myers Park Baptist Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
