Best English Teacher I ever had. I remember visiting her often in her classroom and we talked about books and plants and life in general. She brought out a passion in reading that stays with me today. Sir Allan MacNab 1975. Deepest Condolences to the family

Mrs. Collington was a phenomenal educator, and I still think of her fondly even after 20 years. She encouraged my curiosity in unusual little details, was generous with her A++'s, and I use her essay writing methods to this day. You will be missed by several generations of students. She was an amazing woman that had a big impact on my life.

Ellen,
As the memories flood by, I reflect on wonderful, happy times of experiences shared. Our journey began at Hill Park Secondary School and continued in the worlds of education and classical music.
Family,
Grateful I am to have walked on several paths with your beloved sister, wife, mother and grandmother. May she be granted blessed repose and eternal memory.

Ellen Collington was my Grade 12 English teacher at Westmount High School in 1966-67. She was well-respected, very competent and and she had a no-nonsense style, but she knew when to smile and get back to work.
Many good memories. Sincere sypathies to her family.

On behalf of the English Department at Niagara University, we offer our deepest sympathies to the family. After reading a little more about Mrs. Collington, I can clearly see where her son Phil gets his teaching abilities, his compassion and his breadth of spirit. I know she will be sorely missed. All the best -- Jeanne Laurel, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of English at Niagara University.

The lessons I learned as your student stay with me as I pass them on to my own students now. Your legacy lives on, Mrs. Collington.

Ellen's energy will be missed at the Canadian Embroiders Guild Guelph (GEGG) meetings. She had so much to share in all things fibre and thread related. It's hard to believe we won't be bumping in to her at various "shows" across the province.
