Ruth & Humberto Vargas
Marc and family,
I was so sorry to hear of your Ellen's passing. Looking at the great collection of photos reminded us of her positive outlook on life, her beautiful smile, and her signature hats. And I always think of her when I hear "Soul Train"; her rendition of it at OMUC was so memorable. Your kids are beautiful and obviously brought much joy to her. Our deepest condolences to your and the family.

Marc,
I am so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. It is evident by the pictures she has gone home to the welcoming arms of God. Clearly she was well loved and loved the Lord and her family. In our sorrow of loss we have the comfort and joy of celebrating the life and love she shared. Her legacy is a fantastic family she raised and all of the lives that are better because she had touched them. You and your family are in our prayers my friend.

Dear Marc,
I learned that your mother had passed and that her memorial service was held last Tuesday. I am very sorry that Willis and I were unable to attend. I went to Richmond to help Wanda because if illness and Willis was unable to attend.
Ellen was very kind to me. We sang together in the Locust choir. She got me enrolled in the Howard Community College Museum Field Trips Class and was my guide for learning to maneuver the bus trips. When she moved to Charlestown, I would pick her up and we would have a great time talking. I enjoyed her stories of her youth and school years. She was very talented and very smart, as you know.
She loved you and Jackson as well as Susan and her grandchildren. She enjoyed planning gifts for them. I will miss her. I think she has earned a wonderful place in heaven and is reaping wonderful rewards.
Please express our condolences to your entire family. I hear that many of Susan's family members attended her memorial at Locust. I am happy that they did. It shows the affection and respect that they had for her.
Please know that we are thinking of you with heartfelt sympathy.
Blessings,

We have many fond memories of Ellen. She was a faithful church member and shared her musical, administrative, and friendship gifts with us. She a lways greeted us with a smile and a warm hug. We will miss her.
