Ellery "Bud" Hofer
Ellery "Bud" Hofer, age 72, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010. He was born July 25, 1938 in Oswego, New York to the late Harold J. Hofer Sr. and Lena Clemmons Hofer Oliver. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959 and was stationed at Foster Field, and George Air Force Base in Victorville, California. He was an independent oilfield consultant for numerous firms.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gloria; son, Russell Hofer and Claudette; daughter, Francine Murray and Bryan; grandchildren, Grant and Krystal Murray, Collin Murray, Rebecca Hofer, and Courtney Hofer, and Papa's little wishes to come, all of Victoria; brothers, Harold J. Hofer Jr. and Roberta of Pennsylvania, and Clifton Oliver of San Diego, California; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held 2:00 pm Monday, November 15, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with the Rev. Celestino Say officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens with full military honors under Auspices of Victoria County Veterans Council, AL, CWV, VFW, DAV, MCL, MOWW, Ex-POW, MOPH, VVA and the KWV. Serving as pallbearers will be Grant Murray, Collin Murray, Bryan Murray, Billy Yandell, Jason Yandell, and Bradley Hauboldt. Honorary pallbearers are Keith Yandell, Harry Erikson, and Alden Wilkins.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or Our Lady of Lourdes Restoration Project.
Special thanks go out to the staff at Citizens Hospital ER and SICU, Lone Tree Fire Station, and Dr. Krueger, Dr. Leggett, and Dr. Adams for their wonderful care.
