Ellis L. "Bucky" Ball Jr., 89 of Jefferson, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 in the Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.
He was born October 17, 1921 in Killarney, WV a son of the late Ellis L. Ball Sr. and Martha Jane Smith.
Mr. Ball was a retired coal miner with the Gateway Coal Company.
He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Surviving are a son, Richard Ball of Carmichaels; two step-daughters, Pauline Huffman and her husband Bill of Waynesburg and Ruth Knizner and her husband Jim of Houston, TX; 7 grandchildren, several great and great- great grandchildren; a sister, Faye Schippert of Cool Springs, WV.
Deceased are his first wife, Bessie Burkett Ball, who died September 15, 1980 and his second wife, Margaret Johnston Shriver Ball , who died March 4, 2001; a sister, Coralee Pack; a half brother and two half sisters.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, in the Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road. Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor. Interment will be private with the Rev. John R. Dorean officiating. Condolences may be expressed online at www.behmfuneralhomes.net.
