FORT WORTH -- Elmer Benton Crittenden, 90, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at 12:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.
Elmer was born on March 12, 1922. He graduated from Paschal High School in Fort Worth and joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1942 and made 22 crossings in the Alantic, chasing subs and escorting supply ships. Elmer graduated from UCLA and was a successful insurance executive until he retired.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Terrie.
Survivors: His brother, George Crittenden and wife, Edith; his nephews, George Crittenden Jr. and Benton Wayne Crittenden; and several cousins.
