We had the pleasure of knowing Elmer and Harriet as across-the-street neighbors on Sherwood Street in Saginaw. We were sad when they moved away, but enjoyed our friendship while they were here. Elmer was a very special person and we extend our sympathy to all of his family.

To the family of Mr. Feinauer- I never met him or any of you. His military service in the 96th infantry caught my attention. My husband's dad was a paratrooper who fought in the mountains of Leyte in 1944 - 1945. The 96th infantry also invaded Leyte and together those brave men saved each other. Your dad was a true hero.

To the family of Mr. Feinauer...I don't think any of you remember me but many years ago I was a student at Bethlehem Lutheran School in Saginaw. I knew your family and was sorry to learn of your father's death. I was also sorry to see that my classmate, Ashley, had died.
Please accept my sympathy at this time and know that you and your family are very much in my thoughts.

Mark and Ken - I was very fortunate to have your father as a friend. He was unique among men in that he freely shared his thoughts and feelings. I remember him telling me how hurt he was that his father had not asked to see him arm after he returned from the war, and how proud he was that, with his 8th grade education, he had children and grandchildren who went so much further. And so much more. Thank you both for allowing me to be part of his final journey. It was so good that so many of you were there to be with him and hold his hand as he passed. I send you my condolences for your loss.
