Mrs. Elmere Lunsford Heintz, 99, of Statesville, died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Jurney's of Statesville. Born in Iredell County on July 7, 1914, she was a daughter of the late William Issac Lunsford and Ella Jarvis Lunsford. She was a retired from Stimpson Hosiery Mill and after retirement, she got her CNA certification. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served on various committees. She was a faithful servant to her church and at the time of her death was the oldest living member. Mrs. Elmere Lunsford Heintz, 99, of Statesville, died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Jurney's of Statesville.
Born in Iredell County on July 7, 1914, she was a daughter of the late William Issac Lunsford and Ella Jarvis Lunsford. She was a retired from Stimpson Hosiery Mill and after retirement, she got her CNA certification. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served on various committees. She was a faithful servant to her church and at the time of her death was the oldest living member.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. E.N.(Gabe) Heintz; three brothers, Herbert Lunsford, Colonel Lunsford and Ray Lunsford; and four sisters, Nora Stepp, Gertha Foster, Hessie Howard, and Rose Proctor.
Survivors include two sons, Steve Heintz and his wife, Shirley, and Mike Heintz and his wife, Cynthia, all of Statesville; five grandchildren: Scott Heintz, Stephanie Wood (Richard), Sarah Morrow (Phillip), Jennifer Attride (Roy), David Heintz; seven great-grandchildren, Nathan Heintz, Gabe Heintz, Alaina Dennis, Braylen Morrow, Brinkley Morrow, Jackson Attride and Sloane Attride; and two sisters: Clara Templeton and Lora Rupard both of Union Grove.
Services celebrating Mrs. Heintz's life will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Beulah Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Robert, the Rev. Henry Cook and the Rev. Robert Garrett officiating. Commital services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be: Scott Heintz, David Heintz, Phillip Morrow, Richard Wood, Roy Attride and Brent Stepp.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Tuesday evening in the Beulah Baptist Church Sanctuary.
