God saw Elna was getting tired
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped His arms around her
And whispered "Come to Me"
In tears we saw Elna sinking,
We watched her fade away.
Our hearts were truly broken,
She fought so hard to stay.
But when we saw Elna sleeping,
Peacefully and free from pain,
We could not wish her back,
To suffer that again.
So keep your arms around Elna, Lord,
And give her special care,
Make up for all she suffered,
That seemed to us unfair.
So many times we've needed her.
So many times we've cried.
If love could have saved her,
Elna never would have died.

Elna, my aunt, was a dear, lovable and gentle lady with a positive and bright attitude to life. She was such a good mother to Anna Emilie, her only child, and a loyal and attentive mother-in law to Randy. To me, my brother and cousins in Denmark, Elna was admirably considerate, always remembering not only our birthdays but also those of our children. Elna was a dearly loved and respected sister-in-law, and my mother was deeply sorry and worried, when Ove, her brother, and Elna decided to emigrate to Canada with their little daughter. Through all the years they, however, kept in touch, thanks to Elna and my mother.
All honour to Elna´s memory . Bodil Bjerre Trolle, Denmark
