Elsie Ingeborg Allen nee Swanson, 84, went to her eternal rest with our Lord on Dec. 22, 2013. She was born to Swedish immigrant parents Ingeborg Anna and Carl Bernard Swanson in White Plains, NY. In 1956 she moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She moved to N. Myrtle Beach, SC in 1972 and returned to the Ft. Lauderdale area in 1996 to care for family. Elsie's many "careers" included retail, dental/orthodontic assistant, counted cross-stitch designer, and real estate. She was gifted musically and artistically. She is survived by daughter Elsa Lynn Ward, son Billy Lawrence "Larry" Layrock, and granddaughter Kelsey-Lynee (Dante) Nardini. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held Sat., Feb. 8, 2014 from 3 to 5pm, immediately followed by service. Arrangement entrusted to Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home, 4061 N. Federal Hwy., Ft. Lauderdale, www.kraeerfairchild.com. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association in her memory.
