Elsie T. Casella, 85, died peacefully on July 4th, 2014 after a brief illness.

Born on September 7th, 1928 in New York City, to Alfred and Hedwig Heck, Elsie was raised in Manhattan and Queens, New York. After she married Alfred M. Casella in 1956, the family moved to Rosedale, New York, where they raised their son, Mark. In 1987, Elsie and Fred purchased a home in the Hemlock Farms Community in Lords Valley, PA, where they spent many happy years.

Elsie and Fred were active members of the Hemlock Farms community and were regulars at the weekly bocce tournaments and bingo nights. Elsie also greatly enjoyed the time she spent volunteering at the Hemlock Farms library and her involvement in the Happy Hookers knitting and crocheting group, which she joined in 1994. She loved having her family, and especially grandchildren, visit in the summer.

Elsie is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Clara and George Adame, of Antrim, New Hampshire, her brother-in law, Arnold Klingsberg, of Bayside, NY, her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Ann, of Waccabuc, NY, one nephew, Nelson Adame, of Simsbury, CT, and his family, two nieces, Jane Mishra, of Great Neck, NY, and Joan Klingsberg, of Bayside, NY, and their families, and three grandchildren, Adam and Madeleine, both of New York, NY, and Aaron, of Waccabuc, NY.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Fred.
