Clotfelter, Elsie M., died Friday, March 8, 2013. A native of Columbus, Mississippi, she had been a Birmingham resident since her grammar school days. She was a graduate of Birmingham Southern College and a former school teacher. Her loves were her children, family, friends, flowers and reading.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Clotfelter, her brother, William E. McClain, Jr. and her parents, William Everett and Christine McClain. She is survived by her children, Robert Clotfelter, Ann C. Whorton and her husband, George, and Barbara E. Clotfelter. She is also survived by three sisters-in law: Caroline P. Clotfelter of Atlanta, Ga, Mildred C. Doggett of Birmingham, Al, and Ella Y. McClain of Marbury, Al.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00-7:00 pm at Ridout's Valley Chapel. Graveside services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on Tuesday, March 12th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Crestway Baptist Church, 6400 Crestwood Boulevard, Birmingham, Al 35212.

I was in your mother's 5th grade class at Edgewood School and we all loved her very much.
When we had our 50th Edgewood School reunion she called me and we were able to get together w/ her for lunch
