KORNMAN, Elsie Canady Varnadoe, 83, of Tampa, passed away on December 1, 2012, after an incredible fight with Alzheimer's. Elsie was born in Dothan, Alabama on July 4, 1929.
Elsie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Gene; her wonderful children, Bruce (Alice) Varnadoe, Carol Varnadoe Arthur ( Bruce Walsh); grandchildren, Cindy (Bill) Fitzgerald, Kevin (Carrie) Varnadoe; great grandchildren, Scott and Sarah Fitzgerald, Keaton and Camryn Varnadoe; brother's and sister's, Myers (Ginger) Canady, Devon (Nancy) Canady, Annette (Jimmy) Gardner, Shirley (Willie) Moats and many wonderful nieces and nephews and all their families.
Elsie was truly a firecracker her birthday suited her well, she was an amazing individual who will be remembered for her outgoing personality, strong independent spirit, and ability to light up a room with her smile. She had a caring heart and always wanted to do anything she could to help others. She truly loved all her family and friends.
All who had the pleasure of meeting her will dearly miss her; but the happy memories that she shared with so many will always be in all our hearts.
Elsie worked for The City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department, back in the late 60's she also was an Interior Decorator for many years with Belk Lindsey at Britton Plaza.
Elsie loved to do crafts and truly loved to travel everywhere and she did.

Mother
A Rose has such beauty, which is easily seen
It can be any color, but its stem's always green
Nothing else can compare, to its sweet lovely smell
When God made the Rose,
He planned it so well!
So it's easy to see, from her head to her toes,
When God made Our Mother, he just looked at the Rose
Her green eyes are stunning and that's just the start,
Her smile is so kind it will capture your Heart!
You know we feel blessed,
and, yes, honored too,
We know we are lucky
because Our Mother is You!
We will love and miss you forever and a Day
