1st Lt. Elton O'Neal Henry, USMC retired , passed away August 1,2014 in Yucaipa, California. Elton was born February 6, 1930 in Barnhart, Texas. The oldest son of Everett and May Henry. Elton was preceded in death by his younger brother Jerry Wayne Henry and his parents. Elton is survived by his wife June, of 60 years, also four children; Chris Henry of Desert Hot Springs, California, Terry Henry of Riverside, California, Robi-Dee Garza of Calimesa, California and Cheryl Burris of Gig Harbor, Washington; seven Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren. 1st Lt. Elton O'Neal Henry, USMC retired , passed away August 1,2014 in Yucaipa, California. Elton was born February 6, 1930 in Barnhart, Texas. The oldest son of Everett and May Henry. Elton was preceded in death by his younger brother Jerry Wayne Henry and his parents.
Elton is survived by his wife June, of 60 years, also four children; Chris Henry of Desert Hot Springs, California, Terry Henry of Riverside, California, Robi-Dee Garza of Calimesa, California and Cheryl Burris of Gig Harbor, Washington; seven Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren.
Elton honorably served 30 years in the United State Marine Corp. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. After his service in the Corp, he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service in Laguna Niguel, California for 23 years.
Elton retired to Fallbrook, California in 1989 where he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing golf and traveling.
He will lovingly be remembered in our hearts as a kind and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend.
We all love him, and we will miss him greatly.
