Elva B. Zavala, 66, passed away on September 11, 2017. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on September 29, 1950 to Rene and Maria Benavidez, Sr.
She was with the love of her life, Modesto Zavala since 1979 and they married on November 21, 1998. Elva worked as a computer programmar for Corpus Christi Army Depot and Naval Air Station Corpus Christi. She had a passion for crocheting, reading and crossword puzzles, and love for her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Dominic Zavala; her parents, Rene and Maria Benavidez, Sr.; her siblings: Anita Benavidez, Rene Benavidez, Jr., Marguerite Smith, Robert Benavidez, Rudolfo Castro, Lodubico Castro, Jr., and Eulogio Castro.
Elva is survived by her loving Husband of 38 years, Modesto Zavala and daughter, Nora Faye (Eli) Sanchez; 6 grandchildren: Rolando R. Ramirez, Jr., Tracy A. Ramirez, Aaron J. Ramirez, Julian A. Sanchez, Jeremiah J. Sanchez and Jacob M. Sanchez; siblings: Gloria (Jesse) Jasso, Beatrice B. Trevino, Marilynn B. Verduzco, Larry (Susan) Benavidez and Hortencia (Robert) Keiser and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.
A Chapel Service will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 10:00 am at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Services to conclude.
