Elwin Faulkner, 82, of West Swanzey, died Tuesday morning, February 5, 2013, at Applewood Nursing Home, following a period of declining health.
He was born in West Swanzey, on April 29, 1930, the son of Lester and Ethel (Phillips) Faulkner. Mr. Faulkner lived in West Swanzey for his entire life.
Mr. Faulkner worked for Homestead Woolen Mills as a spinner for many years. Through out his life, he was a "jack of all trades" including household repairs and repairing cars.
He was a member of the VFW Post in West Swanzey.
Mr. Faulkner enjoyed his vegetable gardens, feeding "his" geese and watching the birds around his home.
He is survived by his son Mark Faulkner of Stockbridge, GA and his daughter Heidi Rumrill, and husband Dathxe Thibault, of Claremont, NH; grandchildren Jessica and Stacey Faulkner, Alysha Rumrill, and Marlana and Miranda Thibault; brothers Gilbert Faulkner, and wife Mary, of Swanzey, Francis Faulkner, and wife Winona, of Swanzey, Clarence Faulkner, and wife Winifred, of Keene; sister Martha Faulkner of Walpole; sisters-in-law Iona Faulkner of West Swanzey and Ruth Faulkner of Keene; ex-wife Barbara Barker of Keene; Roy Faulkner who lived with Elwin; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Faulkner's brothers Jason and Richard Faulkner, daughter-in-law Dawn Faulkner, and brother-in-law Albert Faulkner all died earlier.
Services for Mr. Faulkner will be held on Monday, February 11th, 2013, 1:00 PM at Christian Life Fellowship, 211 Whitcomb Road, Swanzey, NH 03446.
Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Mr. Elwin Faulkner's name to the NH Audubon Society, 16 Audubon Way, Auburn, NH 03032.
