Though snow covers your back poarch here in woods, I could see Butch on a summer weekend grilling for all of us. I am not sure that any of us want to get used to life without him! Who is going to lead us in games -- teach us his stradigies for winning? Or sing even when the rest of us don't sound so good? Butch, we miss you and always will..........Love and prayers to my sister,Sue, and the boys, Barbara

Dear Sue and the rest of Butch's family, I was shocked and saddened to hear of Butch's passing. I first met Butch when I crossed the hall to see who was going to be living near me during my first year at UM Law School. Eventually, Butch, along with Al Munoz and Gary Rowe became my best and life-long friends from law school. Butch and Al drove home to Ishpeming with me on one occasion, and Butch used the opportunity to visit with his great-aunts who also lived in town. I recall playing catch with Butch on many occasions within the Law Quad; and any party I attended always seemed to end with Butch having to do the "gator." While Butch and Al visited me and my family in ishpeming on a couple of times after graduation, I didn't have much personal contact with Butch in recent years. Still, he was a true friend during three difficult and trying years of our lives, and I will miss him a lot! I will hold Butch and the rest of you in my prayers.

Dear Sue,
Praying that happy memories will soon take the place of present sadness. Having suffered this kind of sorrow ourselves, we know that it is comforting to know others think of happy experiences shared with our loved ones.We are remembering happier times...all the fun we had in Toronto and Saugatuck with Gauche Gourmet.
Love and prayers from Kathy and Steve Petz

Sue and family - Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your beloved husband and father. I feel so blessed to have worked with Butch. He was truly one of the most knowledgeable tax professionals I've ever known. But, what impressed me most was his generous spirit. He would always find the time to return a call, do the research, or discuss an issue in order to serve a client or support a colleague. He so willingly shared the gifts that God had given him. Thank you for sharing him with us.

We were saddened to learn of Butch's passing. He was a great guy and the smartest tax specialist I ever dealt with at Plante & Moran. He was also so much fun to be with; I remember my ski trips out west with Butch and friends in the 70s and our fun together during the Gauche Gourmet dinners. Our deepest condolences to you and your family.

Aunt Sue and Boys, my heart aches for your loss.....Please know that my thoughts are with y'all at this time, even though I'm an ocean away and unable to be there to comfort and support you. I loved viewing the family photos you shared on this site. The one of Uncle Butch playing the guitar with a very young Joe sitting on him reminds me of a favorite photo of mine which has Uncle Butch playing his guitar (at your cabin), singing "B-I-N-G-O" to my two kids.....That was a favorite he did for the kids, but I also remember him doing "Michael Finnagan", too. Love and prayers, Amy and family (Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii)
