Grandchild
Rob Bader
My grandfather was an amazing man. His skill in the garden was unsurpassed, and his jeans always dirty. Born in Elk Grove, CA in 1921, he enlisted in the Navy during WWII, and saw action in the Pacific campaign aboard the USS Tomahawk (AO-88). After the war, he was part of the occupation army in Japan. He married my grandmother in Grainville, Iowa, in 1947, and moved to Sacramento. Their 6 sons included my father, David, and my beloved uncles. We all miss him and Martha dearly.

I remember Mr. Bader from my days as an escrow officer at North American/Transamerica Title Co. in the l960 and 70's. He was one of my favorite clients, always a gentleman, always kind.

Will always remember Emil for his hospitality when I visited - also, for his love of children. Jeanne (Kiehl) Asmussen still remembers when he bought a red dress for her little daughter when they were at Emil and Martha's house on a vacation.
