Mrs. Emily Hartman Henderson Lowry died on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. A family graveside service will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park, Clinton Boulevard, Jackson, Mississippi. The Reverend Doctor Jennings Ligon Duncan III and the Reverend Brister Hagaman Ware will officiate with grandson, Wiley Potter Lowry III assisting. Visitation will be at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, Mississippi, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Mrs. Lowry was born on January 10, 1925, in New Orleans, Louisiana, at Hotel Dieu. Mrs. Emily Hartman Henderson Lowry died on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. Mrs. Lowry was born on January 10, 1925, in New Orleans, Louisiana, at Hotel Dieu. She was the daughter of Mr. William Warren Henderson and Mrs. Emily Hartman Henderson of Brookhaven and Jackson, Mississippi. Mrs. Lowry graduated from Central High School in 1942 and the University of Georgia in 1946 where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She was a member of the Junior League of Jackson. She taught pre-school Sunday School at First Presbyterian Church for over fifty years. She was honored by the Women in the Church at First Presbyterian Church with a Life Membership.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Wiley Potter Lowry, and her brother, Lieutenant Colonel William Warren Henderson, Junior, of Annandale, Virginia. She is survived by a son, Wiley "Buz" Potter Lowry, Junior and wife, Ann Craven. She is survived by two daughters, Susan Thomson Lowry Garner and husband, Don Farrell, and Emily "Deetsa" Molpus and husband, Charles Homer. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Wiley Potter Lowry III and wife, Molly Hogue; Ruffin Craven Lowry and wife, Dr. Mary Allyson Young of Birmingham, Alabama; William Lowry Garner and wife, Carley Wynn; Kathryn Farrell Garner of Sunshine Coast, Australia; Emily Henderson Molpus Tomlinson and husband, Frank Hilton-Green of Mountain Brook, Alabama; and Benjamin Lowry Molpus . She is survived by four great-grandchildren, Barnes McMillan Lowry, Henry Bradford Lowry, and Caroline Hartman Lowry of Jackson, and Wynn Lowry Garner of Madison, Mississippi.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 1390 North State Street, Jackson, Mississippi 39202, or to a charity of your choice.
