Emmalyn Barker Holdridge, 77, of Columbia Maryland, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday January 5, 2015. She was born to the late John and Elenore Blosser in Farmer, Ohio. Emy graduated from Bowling Green State University and was married to Thomas Barker until his passing. Her second marriage to Milton Holdridge ended in divorce. Emy had a lengthy career as a financial administrator with the Baltimore County Board of Education. Emy loved bird watching and being in nature. She served as Treasurer of the Howard County Bird Club. She volunteered many hours at the Patuxent Research Refuge and was serving as Chairman of The Friends of Patuxent Wildlife Research Center. Emy was predeceased by her sister, Vella Darby of Columbus Ohio. She is survived by her daughter Patty Barker Fitzgerald and her son-in-law Sean Fitzgerald of Baltimore, and her sister Phyllis Devlin of Akron, Ohio, as well as many nieces and nephews. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be directed in Emy's memory to the Friends of Patuxent at http://friendsofpatuxent.org/donate.html
