Erenzo Perkins Sr. was born to Reuben and Beatrice Perkins in Jewett, Texas on June 15, 1938. He was the sixth of seven children born to this union. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two sisters (Priscilla Perkins and Lue Helen Davis) two brothers (Lee Perkins and Rueben Perkins Jr.). He met and married Berniece Risher on August 4, 1956. Erenzo moved and settled his family in Avondale, Arizona where he started his own business "Perkins Gardening Service" in which he has maintained until his passing. He was also employed through the City of Phoenix and Roosevelt School District.
Erenzo accepted Christ in 1955 at Power House Church of God in Christ in Taft, Texas under the tutelage of Pastor T. D. Dies. He was the Assistant Pastor at Avondale Church of God in Christ under the tutelage of Elder Wise Jones. He later moved his membership and served under the leadership of Bishop J. C. McGee at the C.O.G.I.C Congregation. On June 12, 2005 he was installed as Pastor of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.
Erenzo loved God and his family and was full of spiritual wisdom. If you ever took the time to sit with him, he would have you laughing one minute and quoting scripture the next. He loved playing his guitar, wearing the White Stetson cowboy hat, watching western movies, and eating breakfast, drinking coffee or drinking sweet tea along with reading his newspaper at McDonalds.
Erenzo departed this life on July 30, 2014. He was preceded in death by four children: one daughter (Linda Elaine Williams), and three sons (Edward Ray Perkins, Luis Kal Perkins and Jeffrey Jermaine McEwen). He leaves to cherish in his memory five daughters: Karren Lopez (Tony), Cheryl Perkins-Williams, Teresa LaMar (Andre Sr.) of Phoenix, AZ. Janice Perkins of Glendale, AZ. and Saundra Perkins-Lowe of Atlanta, GA. Six sons: Billy, Erenzo Jr., David Sr., Anthony, Kenneth Sr. all of Phoenix, AZ and Zerrick of Coolidge, AZ. He is also survived by (96) grandchildren; (112) great grandchildren and (1) great great grandchild. His sister Stella Harris, brother L.P. Perkins Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

"Happy 77th Birthday Daddy. I woke up early this morning to do a little yard work and water my plants in memory of you. I bought your favorite cookies..."
