Erica Franziska Sullivan, born in Vienna, Austria, passed away on January 26th, 2015 at the age of 93. We take solace in the hope that she is reconnected with her husband, Russ, whom she spent over 45 years of her life with and who passed away in October 2013 at 96 years of age. Erica lived a good life, not showing many signs of aging well into her 70's and 80's! She unconditionally loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and welcomed us with open arms at all times where we enjoyed countless memories at the 'Cottage'. In the face of her own challenges and struggles throughout life, she pushed on and survived. If there's anything of the top 5 things about Erica that encapsulates her- that would be someone who is a Survivor. She was an exceptional gardener and spent countless hours growing a range of plants in her gardens as one of her constants from war stricken times in Vienna to the peaceful waters of Georgian Bay. She kept busy, always 'working', and consistently active. Whether it was cross country skiing in the forests by her home, walks on the beach (or to the ice cream place with her grandchildren), bowling with her local team, mini-golf, tending to her goldfish in a pond in the yard, card games and socializing with her neighbours, or the daily calisthenics that she ensured she and Russ completed every morning in their basement; she seemed to never miss a beat! She will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed by friends and family as we continue on with our lives without her. Safe Journey!
Visitation will start at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday February 3, 2015 at Andrews Funeral Centre – Bramalea Chapel (link to map & directions below). The Memorial Service is at 1:00 p.m., followed by a luncheon for all visiting friends and family. Donations in Erica's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Dear Irma: Our sincerest sympathies on the loss of your mother. She certainly appeared to be a very vibrant person, full of energy and with a joy of living. Although it may be said she had a full life of 93 years, it does not make the loss any easier. It is always very difficult to say goodbye to those who give you life itself. Our thoughts & prayers are with you and your family

I have some very fond memories of your mother/grandmother and great grandmother from my childhood, especially the great German cakes at birthdays.

Dear Elfie, Your Mom and I began our friendship in 1978 and continued until the cottage where we stayed began to deteriorate. We continued to have our chats, special times together for several years later. I will truly miss my dear friend Erica, have kept her in my prayers for years and send my deepest sympathy to you and the family. Love Mary Ann DeGroot, Rochester, NY. USA
