Erich B. Puff, age 93, died December 28, 2013. He was born February 14, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan to German immigrants, and was predeceased by his parents Erich B. Sr. and Mary, and step-father William Gilster. Erich was an avid sportsman, enjoying skiing and boating. He worked as a gauge maker and is remembered for his attention to detail in his handiwork. After dating for over a decade, Erich and Catherine were married in 1968 and honeymooned with a cruise to Germany and a tour of Europe, and they enjoyed another 43 years of dancing together. Uncle Erich will be fondly remembered by many children for always entertaining the kids with storytelling, brain-teaser puzzles, flying kites and putting on firework displays. Loving husband of the late Catherine Puff (nee Engelhardt). He was survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 11 am until time of funeral service at 3 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores. Erich was a long-time board member of the Humane Society of Macomb, and loved feeding the birds and animals in his backyard. Catherine Gennrich (Engelhardt)
Uncle Erich became my "godfather" when mine passed away, making Aunt Catherine & Uncle Erich my official Godparents.
This couple represent an ERA to all us who knew them...especially myself, my husband (Erich Gennrich) and my children Erich, Jennifer, Adam and Matthew. (They told my husband and I were "the younger version" of them)
First and foremost, our memory of them is CHRISTMAS....their decorating, animated figurines, cookies, and all the brain teaser games, singing together to music from the player piano.
Years of going to Harson Island or the Ford Estate cove to swim and picnic on our boats... then off to watch fireworks, on the water, with cousins, uncles and aunts.
Their love for their kitty cats....their "fur children"...lots and lots of pictures over the years of this.....NO WONDER they supported the Humane Society and served them in so many ways!!
So many times enjoying their love for flying kites and launching rockets!!
Their love of doing crafts...hook rugs, plastic canvas, making ornaments....of going on vacations and taking lots and lots of pictures, for us all to enjoy during "slide show" nights!!
This couple has left us all GREAT Memories and LOTS to live up to!!
Thank God for Uncle Erich & Aunt Catherine!! May we all PASS IT FORWARD
