Ermelinda (Cadime) Faria, "Emily,"age 94 of Somerset MA passed away Sat. Oct. 2, 2010 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Marianno C. Faria and the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Ferreira) Cadima.
She was a seamstress for over 16 years in the needle trade industry and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was a member of the Ocean Grove Seniors Club, Royal Travelers Club and the Fall River Senior Center, also enjoyed playing penny bingo and was an avid knitter and crocheter.
Mrs. Faria was a longtime communicant of St. John of God Church
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Webb Newton and her husband James of Somerset, Dr. Linda Faria Braun and her husband Dr. William Braun of Cambridge, two sisters Evelyn Silva of Somerset, and Alice Crabtree of North Andover, Five grandchildren, James Webb and his wife Heather of Somerset, Atty. Jeffrey Webb and his husband Dr. Mark Schuster of Brookline, Jennifer Webb Nawrocki and her husband Michael of Berkley, William J. Braun of Boston, and Jonathan R. Braun of South Boston, three step grandchildren Maryellen Williams and her husband Tom of Somerset, Carey Newton and her wife Irene Rivera of Qunicy, and James Newton Jr. of Newport News, VA, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Sousa, Georgina Souza, Ethel Silvia, Manual Cadime, Joseph Cadime, Marianno Cadima, and John Cadima.
Her Funeral will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 8:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at ROSE E. SULLIVAN, 866 County St., Somerset , followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. John of God Church 1036 Brayton Ave. Somerset. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Flowers welcome or contributions in her honor may be made to the Sarah Brayton Activities Fund 4901 North Main St. Fall River, MA, 02720, the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701, or to a charity of your choice. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
