Ernest K. Chamberlin, Sr., 80 of West Dummerston, VT passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at his residence in W. Dummerston. He was born in Dummerston, VT on February 26, 1933, the son of the late Kenneth Chamberlin and Doris (Walker) Pickering.

Ernie was a lifelong Dummerston resident; he lived in the home that he built. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of EK Chamberlin & Sons Electricians for many years before his retirement. Ernie was very active in the Dummerston community. He coached little league, was the sponsor of EK Chamberlin & Sons softball team in Putney, was the former Police Chief, and Constable in Dummerston, was a member of the Windham County Sherriff's Department and the Dummerston Fire Department. Ernie hosted many end of year softball parties, cookouts and Christmas open houses. He was a member of the VAST snowmobiling club and enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and camping with his grandchildren.

He is predeceased by a brother, Leon Chamberlin and a sister Sandra Robinson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Chamberlin of W. Dummerston; three sons, Ernest K. Chamberlin, Jr. and his wife Cathy of Bellows Falls, Timothy A. Chamberlin and his wife Sheri of Dummerston and Jareth T. Chamberlin of Brattleboro; two daughters, Eileen M. Castine and her husband Douglas of Vernon and Darlene J. Deane of Keene, NH; two brothers, Gerald Macpherson and his wife Donna of S. Berwick, ME and Kenneth P. Chamberlin of Dummerston; fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11AM at Dummerston Congregational Church, juncture of East-West and Middle Rd., Dummerston Center, VT. Burial will follow at Dummerston Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Rescue Inc., 541 Canal St., Brattleboro, VT 05301 or The Visiting Nurse & Hospice of VT and NH, 66 Benning Street, Suite 6, West Lebanon, NH 03784.
