Ernest Clayton Johnson was received by Our Lord on June 24, 2012 at the age of eighty-four. He passed from natural causes in his home in Nicoma Park, OK. Ernest was born on September 16, 1927 in his hometown of Harrison, AR to the parents of Edward Seymore and Effie Cora (Smith) Johnson. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of fifty-eight years, Mary Lee Johnson as well as a steady, caring father to his children Rita Johnson, Clayton Johnson (Teresa), Deborah King (Kurt), Rebecca Mayes (Billy) and Lora Lee (Jimmy). Ernest Clayton Johnson was received by Our Lord on June 24, 2012 at the age of eighty-four. He passed from natural causes in his home in Nicoma Park, OK. Ernest was born on September 16, 1927 in his hometown of Harrison, AR to the parents of Edward Seymore and Effie Cora (Smith) Johnson.

He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of fifty-eight years, Mary Lee Johnson as well as a steady, caring father to his children Rita Johnson, Clayton Johnson (Teresa), Deborah King (Kurt), Rebecca Mayes (Billy) and Lora Lee (Jimmy). Ernest's ornery nature was prevalent throughout his life and kept his family and friends ready for hearty laughs. His kindness and generosity were always available to family, friends and neighbors in need with an open and willing heart. Ernest fought with the Army in the Korean War, was an active 32nd Degree Mason, and was a Championship boxer while serving in the Army. Once settled with a family he gave many years and retired with OG&E.

He was preceded in death by wife Mary Lee Johnson; brothers, Carrol and Junior Johnson; sisters, Juanita Stonecipher and Martina Massengale; brother-in-laws, Dan, W.D. and Buddy Graham; sister-n-laws, Helen McWilliams and Faye Johnson; great grandchild, Landon Johnson. He was survived by his five children; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob and Aubrey Johnson; sister, Imogene Edinger (Leon); sister-in-laws, Hazel Graham, Deanna and Priscilla Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home. Interment will take place on Friday in Harrison, AR.
