Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 7, 2014.

Ernest Stone went to his heavenly home April 3, 2014 at the age of 87 years of age. He was born November 10, 1926 to Tom and Nelly Stone in Paden Oklahoma. Ernest moved to Edmond as a child where he lived for 86 years.
His mother died when he was three and the family consisting Ernest's dad of 2 sons and four daughters – with Ernest being the second born and the oldest son. Times being tough during the depression everyone pulled together and six year old Ernest began shining shoes on Broadway in Edmond in 1933 to help the family make ends meet.
He proudly serviced in the United States Army during the conclusion of World War II. He received a good conduct medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal, World War II Victory medal, and the Philippine Liberation ribbon with a bronze star.
He loved music, enjoyed writing songs, and singing.
He was saved in his thirties while attending a Nazarene church as spent the last years of his life attending a Nazarene congregation in Edmond.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Sandra Stone. He is survived by his two children Warren Eugene Stone of Edmond and Kristi Stovoll of Oklahoma City, six grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Ernest was beloved by all and will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched with his grace.
