Ernestine H. (Rothschild) Allen of Oklahoma City (OKC) passed away in Mercy Hospital on Friday, January 13th. She was born on July 14, 1916, in Cache, OK. Ernestine graduated from California State University, Northridge. She participated in many organizations over the years, including: Campfire, a lifelong passion; Revedere Book Club as a founding member; Daughters of the American Revolution; PEO and others. As a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of OKC, she spoke fondly of her "Circle." She cherished a great number of relatives and friends; every occasion and season formed a reason to gather and celebrate. While working at a radio station, she met West P. Rothschild, who was purchasing advertising for Rothschild's stores. In 1947, they married and had two sons, Philip and John. After the stores were sold, the family moved in 1958 to Sherman Oaks, CA. She returned to OKC following West's death in 1972. In 1981, she married Dr. George Allen, a kind and gentle man. For 14 wonderful years, they enjoyed friends and family and much traveling. Ernestine is survived by her sister Carnell H. Cook of OKC; son Philip A. Rothschild of Grover Beach, CA; son John C. Rothschild and wife Theresa of Shawnee, OK; and two granddaughters, Kimberly A. Clark and Sarah N. Willems. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan 15th from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper, 6600 Broadway Extension in OKC. Private family services will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors, Oklahoma City, OK.
