Esther G. (Gatewood) Allen, 93, of Ross Township, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late David R. Allen Sr.; loving mother of David R. (Lois) Allen Jr. and the late Nelson D. Allen; and grandmother of Scott D. Allen, Daniel R. Allen and Donna Lee Jones. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and son, she was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Scott Allen Jr. and Jessica Lee Jones. Esther was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church and the Wissahickon Nature Club. Esther was a well-known naturalist in Western Pennsylvania. Services are private. Arrangements by H.P.
