Esther Annis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 6, 2013.

Esther Annis was born in Brooklyn on February 19, 1923, she died peacefully, in bed, on December 5,
2013. An educator, a volunteer, a mother and aunt and grandmother, her hands were
always busy. Wrapped in a gentle shell covering a steely interior, she provided a strong
center for her family. She parented until the end, always ready with hug, a smile, a
shoulder to lean on, and chocolate to soothe any frazzled soul who crossed her path.
Predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Herbert, she is survived by her children Susan
(Bill Hileman), Jeffrey (Terri Lynn), and Jean, and eight grandchildren Billy, Jennifer (Brian Petersen), Sarah, Rebecca, Naomi, Miriam and Benjamin.

Funeral Service was held Sunday December 8th at the Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, Hackensack, N.J.

Interment at Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, NY

We know that your family and friends can comfort you now but it will take time to absorb the loss of someone so important to you. We hope that time is short and that you are left with all the good memories of her love and caring.
