Esther Mae Becker, 85, of Taft, Texas, passed away on March 29, 2010, in Portland, Texas. She was born on December 29, 1924, in Yorktown, Texas, to Emil and Emma Jaroszewski. Esther Mae was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She held an office in the church at the conference level and was also a nursery school teacher. She loved gardening and could grow almost anything. There was something always in bloom in her yard. Esther Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Becker; her parents; two brothers, Leroy and Travis; one sister, Hulda; a nephew, Jackie Keng; and a niece, Christi McDay. Esther Mae Becker, 85, of Taft, Texas, passed away on March 29, 2010, in Portland, Texas. She was born on December 29, 1924, in Yorktown, Texas, to Emil and Emma Jaroszewski. Esther Mae was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She held an office in the church at the conference level and was also a nursery school teacher. She loved gardening and could grow almost anything. Esther Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Becker; her parents; two brothers, Leroy and Travis; one sister, Hulda; a nephew, Jackie Keng; and a niece, Christi McDay. She is survived by three sisters: Mabel Grodhaus of Stonewall, Texas, Dolores (Charles) Duff of Trinity, Texas and Doris (Bennie) Box of Taft; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at San Patricio Memorial Gardens in Portland, Texas.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Services are entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home, 207 N. Meyer, Taft, Texas.
