Esther M. (Sensenig) Carbaugh, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Berks Heim. She was the loving wife of the late Benjamin E. Carbaugh, whom passed away Jan. 10, 1995. The couple married in Elkton, MD on May 23, 1937.
Born in East Earl on August 22, 1918, Esther was a daughter of the late George E. and Mary (Cooper) Sensenig. She was employed with Luden's Inc. in Reading as a candy packer for 25 years until she retired in 1982. Prior to that, she was employed with Berkshire Knitting Mills and she assisted with the family butcher business in East Earl as a purchaser and buyer.
Esther is survived by a son, Terry L. and his wife, Diane L. (Deppen) Carbaugh of Reading, a brother, Kenneth L. Sensenig of Sinking Spring and a grandson, Christopher Carbaugh of Muhlenberg.
She is predeceased by a son, Larry D. Carbaugh; a granddaughter, Denise A. Carbaugh; a sister, Grace Gehr and five brothers: Harvey, Earl, Clair, LeRoy and Charles Sensenig.
A Funeral Service for Esther will commence at 12pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in St. John Center Lutheran Church, 599 Reading Rd., East Earl, PA 17519. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 10 to 11:00am in Francis F. Seidel Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading. Burial will be in Centre Union Cemetery, East Earl.
Memorial contributions may be to the Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N. 11th St., Reading, PA 19604.
