Obituary

Esther L. Gfroehrer (don't forget the L.) passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 18th 2014, after a long illness. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she lived most of her life in Jersey City, New Jersey and worked for the Colgate-Palmolive Company until her retirement. Esther lived life with an open heart and unwavering faith in human kindness even when it was not warranted.

She was a "mom" to many pets throughout her life and loved none more than her dog "Honeybun" whom she joins in heaven. She moved to Toms River about ten years ago to be closer to her sister Geraldine Clarke, whom she also joins in heaven.

Esther loved animals, Chinese food, action movies, the New York Mets, Atlantic City, her surviving daughter Ellen Bliss, and many, many loving friends and caring neighbors. She leaves a gaping hole in the hearts of those who loved her.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2014 at 11:30am at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your local animal shelter. Rooting for the Mets this year would also be appreciated. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.quinn-hoppingfh.com.

May she rest in peace.
