Ethel A. (Healey) Cataldo, 95, of Fairhaven, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017 after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Joseph Cataldo Jr.

She was also a member of the New Bedford Garden Club and the Beautification of Fairhaven Committee. While her husband served as a Fairhaven Selectman, she was privileged to travel to Japan as part of the town delegation that visited Fairhaven's sister city of Tosashimizu. Mrs. Cataldo was an avid bowler until the age of 94. She loved to tend her garden, enjoy the beach at Fort Phoenix, and spend time with her grandchildren.

We were so saddened to hear of Ethel's passing. It was only two months ago that mom and I were visiting Dick and Loretta and working on our family tree. Mom was so delighted to reconnect with her relatives.

The loss of a parent is never easy. A part of us is lost, our rock, nurturer, guidance, strength... But the parent planted the seed for you to continue on, now you are the rock, nurturer, guidance, strength... Ethel was a good planter, she did well, her family shows it. So glad we got to meet her and share with her during her many Ohio visits. To the entire Cataldo family, our Deepest Sympathies and Condolences. God Bless you all always. To you, our dear friends, keep your mom's spirit high in your hearts forever. Eternal rest grant unto Ethel Oh Lord, and perpetual light shine upon her, may she rest in peace, Amen.
