Etta M. Edwards was born on November 30, 1929, in Harlem, New York, and was raised in Jamaica, West Indies. She was married to the late George Edwards for 32 years. After her husband's discharge from the service in1957, they moved from Oklahoma to New York. Etta attended Jewish Hospital & Medical Center of Brooklyn School of Nursing, where she graduated with her RN diploma in 1952. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. After raising her family in New York, Etta relocated to Houston, Texas. She is survived by two brothers, one sister, four children, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends, and well-wishers
