Eubaldo Ponce Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 6, 2018.

Eubaldo Torres Ponce passed from this life on to his eternal home on January 5th, 2018 in Frisco, Texas. Eubaldo was born October 18, 1933 to his parents, Eubaldo and Marcelina Ponce. Growing up in Lubbock, Texas, he was the youngest of seven children sharing his childhood with five older sisters and one older brother. He admired his father very much and would talk about all the times he would spend with him.

Family and friends would describe Eubaldo as the most loving, affectionate, and kind person. He had a great love for his family. He was honored to serve his country during the Korean War and was a Sargent in the U.S Army for three years. He always stood strong in his convections. People would always call him by his last name, Ponce.

In 1962, Eubaldo attended a college in Midland, Texas, and in 1964, attended SMU Perkins School of Theology. He was a minister of the United Methodist Church for 40 years serving all over Texas. He then worked for the Board of the Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church where he traveled all over the world including Puerto Rico, Brazil, India, and all throughout the United States.

Eubaldo enjoyed going fishing. He had a love for painting and a passion for gardening. When asked where his favorite place would be, Eubaldo would say in his garden and with his family. He also loved action movies and was always ready to go to the movies. He loved Mariachis and Hispanic traditions.
In 1954, Eubaldo married the love of his life, Jesusita Silva, in Slaton, Texas. Together, they had four children; Carlos Ponce, Jimmy Ponce, Deborah Ponce, and Rebecka Hekmat; five grandchildren; Patricia, Priscilla, Ashley, Sophie, and Isabelle; and five great-grandchildren, Zane, Zariah, Zeth, Gabriella, and Lilliana.

Eubaldo was preceded in death by his parents, Eubaldo and Marcelina Ponce and his siblings; Juan, Sanjuna, Severa, Rosa, Julia, and Maria. His legacy will live on through his wife, Jesusita; his son Jimmy Ponce and his wife Rebecca Ponce and their three daughters Patricia, Priscilla, and Ashley and their five grandchildren, Zane, Zariah, Zeth, Gabriella, and Lilliana of Lubbock, Texas; his son Carlos Ponce of Dallas, Texas; his daughter Deborah Ponce of Dallas, Texas; and his daughter Rebecka Hekmat and her husband Sina Hekmat and their two daughters Sophie and Isabelle of Westport, Connecticut.

Eubaldo was loved while he was here with us on earth, and we will continue to love him through time and all eternity.
