Eugene "Gene" Minarich, 80, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday November 25, 2016, surrounded by his family, after battling cancer for over 10 years.
He was born October 20, 1936 in Morris Township, PA, to the late Joseph and Helen (Minarich) Sheroky. A 1954 graduate of Morris Township High School, Gene also served in the U.S. Airforce, and graduated from DuBois Business College in 1961. He retired from Janney Montgomery Scott after a long career as a Stock Broker and from 2011 to 2013 he served as President of the Keystonians.
Gene was an active member of Holy Apostles Orthodox Church in Mechanicsburg.
Gene is survived by his wife, Madeline (Hvizdash) Minarich, and 3 sons: Scott, (and wife, Betty) of Shermans Dale, PA; Christopher, of New York City; Jonathan, (and wife, Amy) of Camp Hill, PA; and 4 beloved grandchildren, Amber, Trenton, Adam and Kyle. He was preceded in death by his infant grandson, Jacob.
Viewing will be Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 5-7:00 PM, with Panikhida (Memorial Service) at 7:00PM at Holy Apostles Orthodox Church, 7111 Wertzville Road, Mechanicsburg.
Funeral service will were held Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Holy Apostles Orthodox Church, Fr. Timothy Hojnicki officiating. The church will be open at 10:00am for viewing. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Holy Apostles Orthodox Church, 7111 Wertzville, Rd. Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. http://www.holyapostleschurch.org/

Scott and families, I had the chance to meet Dad a few times. He was someone to listen to while he was around. My memories of camp with him will always be with me. We will always be here for you my brother. God be with you and yours.
